TL;DR
Luckily my 10 years of Spanish classes have held up thus far - I’ve been getting around and ordering food just fine over here. The next test will be making friends in Spanish…
There’s never been a better time to build things from anywhere in the world. More reflections below.
Grocery stores in other countries are just so much fun.
CURRENTLY
Documenting my journey
I’m stoked for my month in Spain. I’m visiting Madrid, Sevilla, Granada, Malaga, Tangier (Morocco), Barcelona, and Lisbon (Portugal). Madrid’s been great so far.
Exploring, sightseeing, meeting locals, and staying in unique places will be some of the highlights, or at least they have been so far.
Excited to meet up with some friends in Madrid this weekend!
BUSINESS PULSE
Treatly
Last week I did something really fun. I was curious if Claude could help me (as someone who’s never created an iOS app before) launch an iPhone app. Granted, I had lots of packing and travel planning, plus Foundation Media work this week, so I’ve only been working on Treatly during breaks.
Long story short, I’ve now created an entire mobile app and website to promote it. The app should launch on the App Store as soon as my developer account is approved - hopefully by next week’s edition of Build in Motion. It was honestly such a joy to create the app, and using Claude for this purpose felt like magic - I’ve learned so much in the process!
If you want to preview the site, it’s live at www.Treatly.app, and I’ll let you all know when the app goes live!

A preview of the Treatly app!
WHAT I’M LEARNING
Technical Skills
The advancements in the last few months of AI have helped me create mobile apps, web scrapers, custom APIs and databases, and custom specialized software for my companies without much of any technical expertise - all in the last week. My Applied Math degree and CS classes certainly help my foundational skills, but the speed at which you can implement custom software now is astounding. If I sound like a broken record on this one, I’m okay with that 😅
If you want the easiest possible way to get started with Claude CoWork, go to Claude.ai, grab the cheapest option, download the desktop app, switch to the CoWork tab, and start typing. You’ll be amazed, I guarantee it.
WHAT I’M CONSUMING
I thought the finale of The Traitors (US) last week was absolutely fantastic.
This week I’ve been catching up on the new Drive to Survive season on Netflix ahead of the first F1 race of the season this year!
I’m hoping Carlos Sainz has a better year, Ferrari wins some races, and Piastri beats Norris. Also would love to see Kimi win a race.
Overall, I’d just love to see a fun season, and would love to go to another F1 race this year!
FINANCES
Money and Investing Updates
€3. The cost of my coffees so far here. Equates to about $3.50, so it’s not dirt cheap or anything, but it’s less than the $6 I was used to paying in the US for a mocha!
$35. I’m almost ashamed to say this, but that’s how much I spent on WiFi for the 8-hour flight to Spain so I could work during the flight. And it wasn’t even that good. Oh well, that’s what business expenses are for, I guess.
$100. That’s the amount I’m currently paying monthly for Claude Max, and I’m using it 6+ hours per day within my usage. It’s hard to not see this being a 10x return on my time and investment given how magical it is.
$12,061. That’s how much I was up on my $IREN position a few months ago. As you may know, it’s been a tough few months for anything crypto-related, so IREN has taken some hits. I’m no longer up $12k, but I’m looking at adding more around the current $40 level of stabilization on some big red days. This is my most concentrated equity position at the moment. #notfinancialadvice

DESK OF THE WEEK
📍 Hostel in Madrid, Spain

Nice perk of this current hostel - a desk in my private room. Super handy for productivity!
WHAT’S NEXT?
After 4 days in Madrid, I’ll head to Sevilla. Next week’s edition will include updates on my time in the 1st and 5th biggest cities of Spain.
The first half of this month includes more trains and planes than the second half. I’m looking forward to the constant movement but I think Barcelona and Lisbon will be nice to settle in a bit more at the end of March for a week each.
Adventure is out there!
